Laura Linney was one of the best American actors in recent history. Her strong and vulnerable performances has made her a household name. Born to a famous playwright's father, and raised by a single mother who made a living by working as a nurse. She was drawn to theatre when spending summers with her father then pursuing acting studies, initially at Brown University and then at Juilliard School. Her Broadway career after her graduation, and then made her TV debut in the next year. Since then she has been appearing in a variety of films, TV plays and stage productions. She has won many awards in her long career. This includes 4 Primetime Emmy Awards, two Golden Globe Awards, three Academy Award Nominations, and five Tony Award Nominations. In spite of all these nominations and awards, her enthusiasm for theatre remains constant, as she still performs in the stage and on screen.
