Nadia and Carol
Nadia Comaneci was born on November 12, 1961, in Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej (now Onesti), Romania. Nadia is the Romanian Olympic gymnast. She is the only person to be awarded 10/10 marks at an Olympic performance. Bela Karrolyi is the Romanian gymnastics teacher who was later Comaneci's coach and first became aware of Comaneci when she was just six years old. Comaneci competed for the first time in the 1969 national junior championships and finished 13th. In the following year, she was crowned champion. In her first international competition in 1972, a pre-Olympic junior competition for communist-bloc nations she won three gold medals. Then in 1973 and 1974, she was an overall junior champion. In 1975, she took home 4 gold and 1 silver at her first senior international competition. Lyudmila Torishcheva was a five-time European champion. She won the American Cup in New York City in 1976 and became the first woman in history to complete the backward double salto in dismounting from the uneven parallel bars. Carol Wayne.........................Carol Wayne was an American film and TV actor best recognized for portraying Art Fern's Tea-Time Movie Lady on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. As a teenager she began her career in the entertainment field as a performer as figure skater. With her younger sister Nina Wayne she was part of a traveling show called Ice Capades. Carol Marie Wayne born 6 September 1942 Chicago Illinois US. Carol's first job was in entertainment in her teens. She started her career performing figure skating alongside Nina Wayne, her younger sister as part of traveling entertainment show Ice Capades. The show featured dramatic ice skating shows.
